Picture discussion, annabelle

I would say that the people in this picture are living in very poor conditions, with little clothing and dilapidated shelters, most of them are significantly malnourished too. As we can see, they are mostly children, perhaps they had lost their parents and are now orphans left to feed on themselves.

At the center of the picture is a young boy holding on to a toddler. They seemed content despite being in such an unfavorable environment. However, I still pity them; the little boy wore tattered clothing while the toddler is not even dressed! Looking at the toddler is even more upsetting; his ribcage can be seen underneath his skin, while a big tummy is prominent, all these indicates that they are not well-fed. They are only children, maybe not even older than I am. Despite so, they had gone through so much more than we had. However, they still remain happy and optimistic, hoping that someday they are able to change their situation and glad that people reached out their hands to help them overcome their troubles.

Therefore, we should learn from them, live everyday of our lives to the fullest and never grumble that we have too much homework and examinations, because we are already the blessed ones, with food and shelter, and most importantly, the love from our family and friends.

In conclusion, I feel that we should do something to help them, sending them clothes and food stuffs are essential. Similarly, we should educate them on basic hygiene purposes as well as agriculture and home building. Perhaps this is the least we can do to ease their suffering and bring about a better future for them. As the saying goes, giving and receiving is the same as embracing the warmth of the Sun from both sides.
