From the right corner of the picture, the fancy words in red and green depicts that this picture is most probably taken during the Christmas season. I think that this picture is taken in the indoors as I can see bulky black speakers and a television hung up upon the wall and marbled floorings. This place may be rather spacious because there are other walkways that lead towards other corridors and rooms. I surmise that before this scene, the children probably had some games and crafts for entertainment and a get-together.
Judging from the vast difference in stature, I suppose that this Christmas party is organized for the little children. The grown-ups present are most probably the helpers or organisers of this event, to make sure that the entire event runs smoothly. Based on the plates filled with variety of food, I can see that the organisers have put in quite a substantial amount of effort and money in doing up this whole event. As part of the festive season, the children are all dressed up respectively in flamboyant colours. I would say that this group of children is rather docile as they are all orderly lined up in a straight queue. Although the faces of the children are not clearly seen, I believe that they are feeling mirthful about the party. Albeit that the children seen in the picture is not sizeable, there may be more children seated behind the divider. Perhaps they are made to proceed in small factions in order to keep the taut. From the looks of the lady in a red and white-striped top, she seems quite solemn, fatigue might have gotten over her over her as she might be tired after a long morning preparation.
After this scene, I think that the parents of the children present will come over to fetch them home. And I presume that some parents would bring their children out for a family day or to shopping malls to shop for some last-minute Christmas gifts. The helpers and organisers would then have to clear up the venue in toto, which I think elephantine task.
In my opinion, to set up a event is a Herculean task as there are many aspects that needs to be taken care of such as the food and the logistics. Many a times, events don’t turn out as glee and jest as we expected, people usually would pass a comment or criticism. I feel that it not a right thing to say as the organisers have really put in stupendous effort in doing up the event. In conclusion, I think we should thank the people in charge of the parties, events, etc, for their great effort and time and be contented.

You have put in conscious effort to fulfil the requirements of the task.
A good attempt to incoporate advance vocabulary but be aware that not all words can be substituted; for example, children are not described as sizeable, " glee and jest " is also not used correctly.
